An Afternoon of History University of Oxford

During the Forum week, Ambassadors will enjoy a leisurely view of the University city, including a visit to the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology with a collection that started in the 1620s. A highlight of the tour will be the Bodleian Library with a behind the scenes look in the Library that dates from 1602 – 20, one of the oldest libraries in Europe and the main research library of the University of Oxford. Here we will also explore Duke Humphrey’s mediaeval library where former readers include five kings, 40 Nobel Prize winners, 25 British Prime Ministers and writers such as Oscar Wilde, C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien.
